SID (Society of Independent Directors) is a governance-driven institution focused on preparing, evaluating, and enabling Independent Directors for Board-level roles through structured guidance, training, and ecosystem support.

SID’s primary purpose is to prepare Independent Directors for Board Appointments and facilitate a credible, ethical, and merit-based ecosystem.

CAPACITY BUILDING  POLICY & RESEARCH & ADVOCACY COMMITTEE

Focused on strengthening the ecosystem, this committee drives learning initiatives, policy inputs, research frameworks, and advocacy efforts aligned with SID’s mission.

This committee oversees financial discipline, transparency, and regulatory compliance. It ensures responsible financial management and adherence to applicable governance norms.

 

MEMBERSHIP & CREDENTIALING COMMITTEE

Responsible for evaluating and onboarding members, this committee ensures that all admissions meet SID’s standards of credibility, experience, and governance readiness.

ETHICS, DISCIPLINE & DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

Focused on maintaining ethical standards and organizational discipline, this committee addresses conduct, resolves disciplinary matters, and ensures adherence to SID’s rules, values, and code of conduct.

SID acts as a facilitation and ecosystem-building institution. 

Final selection, appointment, and decision-making authority remain solely with the respective companies and their boards.
