The Society of Independent Directors (SID) is committed to maintaining transparency and fairness in relation to membership fees, program registrations, and other payments received through its website or official channels. By making any payment to SID, you agree to the following Refund & Cancellation Policy.
1. Membership Fees
Membership fees, including Founder Membership, Regular Membership, Life Membership, Institutional Membership, admission fees, and renewal fees, are generally non-refundable and non-transferable once the membership application has been approved and processed.
Where a membership application is rejected by SID before approval, any eligible refund shall be processed after deducting applicable administrative charges, payment gateway charges, taxes, or other expenses, if any.
2. Training Programmes, Workshops, Seminars and Events
Registration fees paid for conferences, workshops, certification programmes, webinars, seminars, or other SID events are generally non-refundable.
However, SID may, at its sole discretion, permit:
– Transfer of registration to another eligible participant before the notified deadline.
– Adjustment of fees toward a future SID programme under exceptional circumstances.
– Refund where an event is cancelled by SID and no alternative arrangement is offered.
3. Cancellation by SID
SID reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, modify, or cancel any programme, event, workshop, or activity due to unforeseen circumstances, insufficient registrations, force majeure, or any reason considered appropriate by SID.
In such cases, SID may offer:
– A full refund of the registration fee; or
– Transfer of registration to the rescheduled programme; or
– Credit toward another SID programme.
The decision of SID shall be final.
4. Duplicate or Erroneous Payments
If a participant or member makes a duplicate payment or an incorrect payment due to a technical error, SID will verify the transaction and, if satisfied, process the eligible refund after deducting applicable payment gateway or banking charges, where applicable.
5. Payment Gateway Charges
Any payment gateway charges, banking charges, taxes, or statutory deductions incurred during the original transaction or refund process may be deducted from the refundable amount, wherever applicable.
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will ordinarily be processed within 15–30 working days through the original mode of payment, subject to banking and payment gateway timelines.
7. Exceptional Cases
SID may consider refund requests in exceptional circumstances on humanitarian or other reasonable grounds. Any such decision shall be entirely at the discretion of SID and shall not constitute a precedent for future cases.
8. Changes to this Policy
SID reserves the right to amend this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. The revised policy shall become effective upon publication on the official website.
